Tech support scam
A pop-up claims your computer is infected and asks you to call a number.
What to do:
- Close the browser
- Do not call the number
- Run your trusted antivirus software
Phishing email scam
You receive an email saying your bank account has been locked.
What to do:
- Don't click links
- Contact your bank directly using the official website or phone number
Grandparent scam
Someone pretends to be a grandchild needing emergency money.
What to do:
- Verify with family first
- Never send gift cards or wire transfers immediately
